The McIntire School’s Center for Investors & Financial Markets (CIFM) Professional Speaker Series engages finance professionals and policymakers—including UVA alumni and employers—to provide students a closer look at practice and opportunities for networking.

Join us on Thursday, Oct. 16, from 6 to 7 p.m. in Shumway Hall, Classroom 130, for a talk with Ann Chung and Eeshma Narula on Blackstone and growth equity. To bring this to life, they will take a deeper dive on a transaction in branded consumer products, including the investment thesis, key risks, value creation plans, and exit opportunities. Ann and Eeshma will discuss their career trajectory, Blackstone as the largest alternative asset manager in the world, and the day to day of their roles at Blackstone.

Ann Chung is a Senior Managing Director and Global Head of Consumer for Blackstone Growth based in New York. Since joining Blackstone in 2020, she has led investments in Oatly, Spanx, Supergoop, and Weee. Prior to joining Blackstone, Ms. Chung held roles at Fremont Private Holdings, the direct investing arm of the Bechtel family office, and J.H. Whitney Capital Partners where she led all consumer and consumer-impacted investments. She received her MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and her B.S. from the McIntire School of Commerce.

Eesma Narulha is an Associate at Blackstone Growth, where she is focused on infrastructure software and cybersecurity. She joined Blackstone in 2023 as an Analyst in Strategic Partners. Eeshma graduated from UVA with a B.S. in Commerce and minor in Computer Science.
