The McIntire School’s Center for Investors & Financial Markets (CIFM) Professional Speaker Series engages finance professionals and policymakers—including UVA alumni and employers—to provide students a closer look at practice and opportunities for networking.

On Wednesday, Sept. 17, the CIFM Professional Speaker Series will host Alex Goodman, Founding Partner, Clockwork, from 5 to 6 p.m. in RRH 120. Alex will discuss the evolving alternative asset space and the rise of new investment platforms leading to investor access beyond just institutions. He’ll highlight emerging trends and entrepreneurial opportunities in this rapidly growing sector.

Alex is a private investment specialist for family offices and a Founding Partner of Clockwork. In his role, Alex leads the vision, positioning and relationships of Clockwork, having grown the firm from concept to a robust platform tracking $6B+ in private assets with a multinational team of 25+. Alex began his career as a management consultant, advising clients in matters of corporate, public, and project finance in the U.S. and Latin America. He co-founded a student-led investment vehicle at Columbia and was a key first employee at a New York-based renewable energy and commodity risk management firm that grew to a leadership position in its market before being acquired by the top global energy market consultancy. He holds a B.A. from Bucknell University and an M.P.A. from Columbia University.
