The McIntire School's Center for Investors and Financial Markets (CIFM) and Darden's Mayo Center for Asset Management collaborate to host this faculty seminar series bringing top scholars to Grounds to share their research in finance, economics, and real estate. The centers alternate hosting the visits and their seminars between McIntire and Darden, increasing collaboration and networking between UVA faculty at the two schools.

On Friday, Oct. 30, CIFM will host Carlos Avenancio-Leon, Assistant Professor of Finance at UC San Diego and a Faculty Research Fellow at the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) in the Law & Economics and Political Economy programs. Carlos works on the intersection between finance, law, and political economy and his research focuses on equitable finance: how financial, legal, and political institutions allocate political power, wealth, and economic opportunity.
